The site went down for approximately 20 hours yesterday
and this morning. There was an issue with the domain name server, which
points you to sahs2001.com. The sahs2001.com server did not go down, the
issue was that requests made to the site were not directed to my server.
I talked personally with the people responsible and hopefully this won't
happen again. We only need THREE more alumni registered to be at
300! Mike C |

You might notice the header graphics that are new. They are 14 of the lights/swirls that randomly cycle as you navigate throughout the site. I think it is a cool addition. Special thanks to Aaron Landy ('97) for taking those awesome night pictures. What I have used are thin horizontal slices out of the larger image. Also, it is very exciting to see almost 300 alumni registered at the site. We only need NINE more people, as of today. If you know someone who has not yet registered, spread the word and lets get to 300! Mike C |

The site went down from approximately 10:00am to 6:00pm.
The sahs2001 server did not go down itself, but the machine that directs
www.sahs2001.com to the server did go down. I apologize to anyone if they
were not able to get to the site when they had wanted to. Hopefully this
will not occur again. Mike C |

Happy Friday the 13th! The forums are back up and better than ever! You can now use the same username and password
that you use for the alumni directory, in the forums. For example, my username is Mike_C, I can now use Mike_C to sign in
at the forums and make a post. No more double registering. If you do not know your username then you can click on the member list in
the forum and try to find it. New members will also get their usernames
automatically added to the forums. In return, all the old
messages and users that were signed up at the forums are now
deleted. I apologize for that but it had to be done to get this
to work for everyone. I also added several more fields to the
register screen, so if you are already in the database you might
consider signing in and adding some information to those fields.
Please report ANY errors you find. Mike

| 7/12/01 | Waaahoo! We go to 40% of the class registered! That is
awesome, I thank you all so much! I attempted to merge the forums with
the current data so we could all use the forums under one username and
password and it was working fine until everything stopped working.
Needless to say, the forums are down. Opps, either way they weren't used
much at all.

I changed the text/font code a little. For those of you, there are a couple, who have had really bad text formatting (i.e. the text would go out of the borders of the window), it should be fixed now. If it isn't, or if you have other issues, please do not hesistate to email me. For the rest of you, the text should just appear slightly smaller.

I have had a couple people complain about how you have to register twice, once for your alumni directory profile then again for the forums. If I can find a couple hours of "off-time" over the weekend then I will get it going so that once you register in the alumni directory, the information will also flow over to the forum database. Wish me luck! Mike C

Whew, the new site design is up. Do you like it? Express yourself on this topic, and others, in the forums. We are on the way to 40%! Hopefully we can get some new people registered on the site. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this, and thanks to everyone who finds this site useful and supports it. Mike C

I coded a new feature this weekend. When you register or update your profile there is now a birthday field. On the front page of the site (you are at it right now), there will be a box which will display all the birthdays of the day. This way you will always be able to keep track of your friends birthdays, as long as they have it entered in the directory. If you have already registered then you need to login at the upper right hand corner, click update profile, then enter your birthday. Tell me what you think in the suggestions forum. P.S. We are on the road to 200!

The Journals are in!!! You can view journals the same way you view profiles. If you want to add to your journal, currently empty, login at the upper right-hand corner and then click Manage Your Journal. You can not currently edit journals once they have been submitted, so type wisely. Editing will be added shortly. Also, please email me if there are any complications.

I've got an idea and I would like to share it. I am thinking of adding a journal/diary feature to the site. Each user would have a simple journal where they could add stories, comments, frustrations, etc. to their profile. It would be automatically dated and each entry would simply pile on top of the previous entry. Of course it would all be public, so you wouldn't want to get too personal if that kind of thing bugs you. I think it would give you a chance to vent/speak out to the class, keeping people informed in what is going on. It would all be optional, of course, so if you didn't want to use it, you wouldn't have to. Tell me what you think in the forums or email to me at rummey@black-hole.com.

If you want to use the forums, you need to register your name with the forums, which is different then the registration you do with the class directory. I know that is a pain in the butt, but that is way it is for now. I am working to get the databases tied together, but it's no easy task. Thanks,
Mike C I can't hear, X-Fest was loud.

If you registered in the last 48 hours and your name did not show up in the database, it does now. There was a bug in the database where names weren't being updated, your information was still registered though. Thanks,

The forums were shut down, and they are now back up. The forums got shut down because of certain posts which were clearly offensive to other people and to the administration of the school. I did not want to shut them down, but I didn't really have a choice since things were heating up REALLY fast. The forums are up again, but they will only stay up if we start showing some maturity. Also, there have been several registrations for people who are clearly not students of our class. I want this site to be as open as possible, but we need to show some maturity. If you post a name and I can not find it in the 2000 yearbook then it will be flagged. At that point I will try to contact that person or determine their legitamacy, if things check out, they will be back in the database. On the flip side, we have about 20% of the class registered. Thanks to everyone who has helped make this work.

The site is really expanding, we have well over 100 people. I have noticed with several people that they only have their name shown under "View Details". If you want any information public then you need to use the checkmarks next to the fields. If you have already signed up then you need to login using your username and password and check the items you want public. Thanks Everyone!

I have added a great new feature to the site. I call it the SAHS AlumnID. When you register yourself in the database you automatically get a number, your AlumnID. You can now take that number and access your profile at yourAlumnID.sahs2001.com. For example, I have AlumnID number 1 and you can directly access my profile at 1.sahs2001.com. Notice that there is no www. in the address. This is useful if you are signing yearbooks, for example, and you want to give someone your phone number. It would be more useful to give them your AlumnID because you never know when the phone number you give them is going to be out-of-date. If you do not know your AlumnID, you can look up your name in the database under "View Alumni" and it will be there. I also added fields where you can enter your AIM handle and ICQ number, so if you have already registered, make sure to update if you want that information know. Tell what you think at rummey@black-hole.com.

We've got 50 people registered at the site now, awesome. I talked with Ms. Kruse Friday and we are going to be hanging up flyers next week and setting up two computers at the yearbook signing party. We will also be handing out flyers at the signing party. Thanks everyone!

The site was announced at the Senior Class meeting,
which has given the site a lot of attention. Thanks to everyone coming
to use this site, it's only good if people use it. If you want to
start some discussions, click on Forums. Mike C
